Matcha Boy is a retailer of premium, authentic Matcha and Japanese tea. Founded in Melbourne by a Japanese Australian tea lover, with the goal to provide Australians with greener and greater matcha.

We continue to volunteer at the farms to refine our matcha and tea ceremony knowledge, as well as assist in the end to end production process, from farm to your table.

We really love tea. There is so much to tea. Like wine, there are thousands of types of tea and our mission is to help people understand, explore and appreciate the many tastes and benefits of tea. We want to provide the most finest tea, and show full transparency of where it comes from.

Support The Planet

At Matcha Boy we appreciate the Earth that grows our wonderful tea. We believe all individuals and businesses, big or small, have a responsibility to think about the resources we use and how it effects the Earth. So far we've been able to get our highest selling product (Everyday Matcha Boy) in fully compostable packaging, and we wish to take more steps to be a greener business.

Connect Australia & Japan

Australia and Japan are both great countries and we want to strengthen and create new bonds between the countries. Whether that’s selling Japanese tea in Australia, or volunteering on farms in Kyoto we want more Australians doing Japanese things, and more Japanese doing Australian things.
